Singing His Praises

I couldn't wait any longer to get the results of my re-scan so I called my doctors office with a desperate plea to find out if they had the results of my second scan back yet. They put me on hold and within seconds they were back on the line reading direct from the report to my ears.... "No detection of cancer or abnormalities". "Return to regular yearly scans." Praise the Lord. Do we serve an awesome God or what!!!!!

Thank you all for praying for me and I am definitely more calmer now.

Feeling Down

I wasn't going to post today because I just wasn't in the mood. Yesterday I had to have a re-scan mammogram done because of something that showed up on my original test last week. I know this is common for women to have to have a second scan but I am worried. My grandmother Olga had breast cancer. She was my mothers mom. Grandma Olga ended up having her breast removed. I'm trying real hard not to think about this but it is getting the best of me. I am a firm believer that God will take care of me and I know that he is more than able to take away any evidence that may have been on my original scan. Please say a prayer for me that my nerves will be calmed and I will have some good news to report in the near future.

Before I close, I wanted to share a few pics of my daughter at one of her track meets. She runs the 100m dash and the 400m dash. She is very fast but she needs to be even faster if she wants to win. She is working on it so maybe she will see a win soon. Allison is in the baby blue uniform (Lisbon) with the black under armour. She is in Junior High and she would probably kill me if she knew I posted these pictures of her. You know how teen girls can be.

Going to the starting line.

Heading to the finish line.

Have a special day today friends,

What Should Have Been

Good Monday Morning everyone. Today April 13th we should have been celebrating my mom and dad's 57th Anniversary but the Lord had other plans for my dad. You see my daddy went to be with the Lord on July 22, 2008. Mom and dad had a wonderful life together. Dad was a hard working self employed truck driver and mom was a stay at home mom. Together they raised 8 girls and 2 boys. Between me and my siblings, we gave our parents 24 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.

Mom and dad were neighbors. I guess dad couldn't resist mom's beauty and mom couldn't resist dad's charm so eventually they got married. They had their ups and downs throughout their marriage but somehow they always managed to hang on to each other and work their differences out. They raised all of us kids in church and the majority of us are still serving the Lord today with our families. We never did without anything growing up. I wouldn't say we were spoiled children but we all knew how to work mom and dad to get what we wanted. Mom had more of the stern hand and with a few good tears we could have dad eating out of our hand.

Now that daddy is gone, we must all try to carry on and continue to make him proud of us. We all help in taking care of mom seeing to her daily needs. She is a very independent woman but she still likes having us close by.

Daddy I wish you and Momma a Happy Anniversary!

To all my blogging friends, if you still have both your parents living, be sure and give them each a great big hug and tell them how much you love them.

Have a blessed day,
~AMY~
